Red Carpet (V.I.P.) promoters confident of success |

Bry Bry - Contributed Promoter Bry Bry and the Standpipe Family are very confident that their March 22 event, Red Carpet (V.I.P.), will be a huge success, judging from the current buzz surrounding it. The promoter, real name Brian Johnson, said a lot has been said so far about the Hennessy-sponsored event, which is set to take place at the increasingly popular venue Oneil's Place in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew. "A crazy amount of people are talking about Red Carpet at the moment, I have been to almost every event for the past month or so promoting it, and the responses have been encouraging so far," he said. Now in its seventh year, Bry Bry, a long-time supporter of dancehall music, said he and his team had gone all out to ensure the event would live up to, if not eclipse, the standards it has set for itself over the years. "Each year, we try to bring something different, and we have always managed to pull through on our promises," he said. On this occasion, the promoter, who proclaims he is the first in Jamaica to ever keep a red-carpet style event, said patrons must come expecting to have the time of their life as they would be treated to an array of top-quality music from the likes of Boom Boom, Starz Kade, Jamrock's DJ Aggart, Crazy Chris, and Miami-based selector Jr Bashment. "The line-up itself will tell of our intentions. We intend for every patron to have a lifetime experience," he added. General admission is $500 before 1 a.m. and $1,000 after. The event is also being sponsored by Lime, Appleton, Fimiyard.com, and Nick Photo works. |
