'Christian' Harlem Shake video met with unfavourable comments
Chad Bryan, Star Writer

Christian group Creative Counter Culture and 3R Youth, which were responsible for last year's staging of the Love March Movement, has created a Harlem Shake video which has been met with several unfavourable comments.

The one-minute and 13 seconds video, which has been posted to video-sharing website YouTube, features several individuals doing the dance, while at the same time sending a message that the buggery law should be retained.

The video also showcased the possible outcomes of what would happen if the buggery law was repealed and included the indivi-duals displaying signs proclaiming 'paedophilia', 'zoophilia' and 'loss of freedom of religion', to name a few.

Of the 15,000 views which the video has achieved thus far, 29 people have liked it, while 521 persons have disliked it.

One person who commented, vilifying the post, stated, "Please! A bunch of subhuman blacks registering their disapproval of gays? What a joke! That was sarcasm. Judge not lest ye be judged. Isn't that in the Bible somewhere?"

A second person stated, "What hypocrisy in Jamaica ..." while a third person wrote, "Gee, isn't it funny that these so-called Christians have taken it upon themselves to be so judgemental of others. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

An individual who attempted to defend the post wrote, "All in all, we are protecting the nation from death and destruction, the fruits of the secularist homosexual agenda."

Public relations officer for Creative Counter Culture and 3R Youth, Daniel Thomas, stated that he had made an attempt to explain the description of the video to individuals.

"Responding has been pretty simple thus far. What I have done is pointed the persons who have been making these comments towards the description of the video, where I went through details as to why these placards are there," he said.

He continued, "Where there was just mindless hate, I simply asked the question: How much hate did it take to write this comment, just to highlight the intolerance in the video?"

In the meantime, the group with the petition in tow to retain the buggery law is headed to the 25,000 mark, which would then be presented to the prime minister. Thomas explained that this petition had been getting good traction among various churches.

"Currently, we are headed to our 25,000 mark, and we have been to several different churches, and many people of the churches, even the ones I have preached at, have responded positively. Some even took copies," he said.

In recent weeks, LGBT activist Javed Jaghai announced plans to "aggressively agitate for change" to the country's anti-sodomy law after allegedly being kicked out of his home because of his sexual orientation, the Washington Blade has reported.
