Man held for fake credit card

A Trelawny man who attempted to purchase grocery from a supermarket in St Ann by allegedly using a forged credit card was remanded in The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. He is to return to court today.

The matter is to be transferred to the St Ann's Bay jurisdiction in time for his next court appearance.

Charged with unauthorised access to computer data, forgery, uttering forged documents and attempting to obtain goods by means of false documents is Charles Miller, 26, of a Duncans Hill, Trelawny, address.

According to The Crown, on March 9, the defendant visited the supermarket and attempted to make a purchase amounting to $19,000 with the use of a forged credit card in a fictitious name.

He also allegedly presented a forged electoral registration identification card in the same name bearing his image.

It was discovered by the store owner who was attending to Miller that the credit card and ID were fraudulent, and a report was made to the St Ann police.
