24-y-o man charged for ganja

A man was charged with breaches of the Corrections and Dangerous Drugs Act on Wednesday, after he attempted to smuggle ganja into a cell at the Gun Court Remand Centre on South Camp Road in Kingston.

Reports are that about 7:30 a.m, 24-year-old Delbert Anglin of Deanery Terrace in Kingston brought several items to the remand centre in an attempt to have them handed over to an inmate.

However, when the items were checked by the police a quantity of vegetable matter resembling ganja was found concealed in a pair of shoes. He was subsequently arrested and charged for the offences.

He is to appear before the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court today to answer to the charges.
