Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer

The morning session of the Lionel Town Resident Magistrate's Court in Clarendon was disrupted yesterday after a 15-year-old prisoner allegedly boxed a policewoman.

About 11:00 a.m., the policewoman who is the arresting officer in a case involving a 15-year-old was outlining the matter to the court when the offender who was inside the prisoner's dock slapped her loudly across her face.

There was commotion in the court with persons screaming and running for cover. In a state of shock, the startled policewoman took a seat and held her face.

The accused was eventually taken to the holding area by police personnel.

The Star was informed that the boy is now facing the additional charges of assault, disorderly conduct and contempt of court.
