Man faces court for assaulting girlfriend

Andrew Colley was taken to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday after he was accused of injuring his girlfriend during an argument.

Colley, who is also charged with possession of an unlawful weapon, pleaded guilty with explanation to assaulting the complainant.

His explanation was cut short after it was revealed that Colley used a knife to cut his girlfriend.

Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered Colley to pay a fine of $10,000 or spend six months behind bars.
