Man shot dead, another rushed to hospital

One man is dead and another was rushed to hospital following a shooting incident which took place on Arnold Road in the community of Allman Town on Monday afternoon.

Dead is 50 year-old Beresford Francis, a construction worker of McIntyre Villa, Kingston 16.

Reports from the Kingston Central police are that about 3:15 p.m., both men were on a construction site in the community.

It is reported that they were approached by unknown assailants who opened fire hitting Francis. He died on the spot. The second man was rushed to the hospital.

Francis' daughter who was still in shock, said she was in the bank conducting business when she heard the news that her father had been killed.

"I don't really know much you know, I was just at the bank and got a call that my father died and I came over here," she said. When asked what she thought was the reason for her father's killing, she said that it was over gang war. "Is gang war man is not over any work," she pointed out.

Police investigations continue.
