Singer J back from US tour

Black Roses Entertainment recording artiste Singer J is back in the island after a successful club tour along the east coast of the United States.

The tour snaked its way through five states for two weeks with multiple stops at clubs all along the east coast. The tour also featured Cobra, D'Angel, and G Warren.

"The tour proved that Singer J is in demand in the US. After the first tour stop, ah me close every single show and mi shell it down," he said.

The artiste's latest single, Stay Away, has been put in regular rotation on FM radio, and the video's release next week will amp up things to the next level. Heavyweight disc jocks like Big A, Johnny Kool and Ice have been spinning the record. Stay Away was co-written with fellow artiste Nicky B and released on the One Life rhythm for Never Sleep Productions.

"It's a great look, Stay Away ah shot inna real life, every day when it play pon the radio, mi phone blow up, and now with the video in steady rotation on TV, the ting looks great, mi already have a series of shows lined up for November," he said.

The video, directed by Terminal 4 Media, has been in regular rotation on CVM, HYPE, RE, and E PLUS.

He recently signed a recording and management deal with Michael Moore, son of the late William 'Willie Haggart' Moore, the reputed leader of the Black Roses Crew.

"Right now, Black Roses ah push my career to the next level. Dem a put a major push inna mi career and mi see it already ah pay off inna the streets, and on the radio. Right now, the boss caan wait fi this video drop fi push it all over inna some markets all over the world," he said.

Late last year, the artiste enjoyed a resurgence in his career with the great success of the Gangnam Badman Style remix that became a huge hit in the dancehall. The song and video, inspired by South Korean rapper Psy's Gangnam Style worldwide smash, has generated more than a million hits on YouTube.
