Nys, Ministry of Youth and Culture for 'Pon Di Corna' Reasoning
Through the National Youth Service (NYS), a number of young persons got the opportunity to engage in on-the-spot sign-ups for job opportunities and training as the Ministry of Youth and Culture began a series of consultation sessions dubbed 'Pon Di Corna' Reasoning, the first of which was held in Highgate, St Mary, recently.

The series, which is a direct effort to communicating and addressing the needs of our youth, seeks to introduce young people to the various agencies and departments under the ministry, enable the minister of youth and culture to speak directly with youth, and provide, the platform to ensure their participation in Government's decision-making process.

Speaking with youth in Highgate, Minister Lisa Hanna explained that in addition to creating well-needed outlets of expression for young people, these interactive sessions also gives her a clearer understanding of what their needs are, therefore putting the ministry in a better position to effectively provide the solutions and opportunities that would allow young people to positively 'reset di ting' in their own lives.

The next 'Pon Di Corna' Reasoning session is scheduled for Portmore, St Catherine. These sessions are in keeping with the 'Reset Di Ting' campaign launched as a part of Youth Month 2013. Observed in November, this year's Youth Month theme was 'Reset Di Ting! The Courage To Do Things Differently.'
