Eight alleged homosexual thieves arrested

Police yesterday arrested eight men, who they said are homosexuals, believed to be involved in a series of robberies in the New Kingston area.

The men were taken into custody at the Half-Way Tree Police Station following a joint operation by the New Kingston police, the St Andrew Central Division and Delta Special Operations.

Police said the one-hour operation started at midday and targeted the areas including Antigua Avenue and Trafalgar Road and culminated on Dumfries and Ruthven roads. The police accosted and searched the men who reside in the gully and recovered several items of stolen property.

The police have listed several men also believed to be involved in these robberies as persons of interest.

The men, only known by their aliases, are:

1. 'Marlene'

2. 'Michelle'

3. 'Pebbles'

4. 'Goodas'

5. 'Bat Man'

These men or anyone knowing their whereabouts are asked to contact the New Kingston Police Post at 926-3508, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
