Husband, 'matey' accused of beating wife face court

The matter involving the husband who is accused of teaming up with his girlfriend to beat his wife, was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday.

Kimberly Scott, 21, and Noel Saunders, 44, are charged with assaulting the complainant on the night she caught them together in Kingston. The case is to be mentioned again on January 19.

According to the complainant, who lives in Old Harbour, St Catherine, her husband came to Kingston in search of work and got involved with another woman.

"I started to see changes in my husband and then I got a vision and I asked him if he was cheating and he said 'no', and I turn to him and say you know that my vision don't lie," the complainant told the court on a previous court date.

"Him buss up me head and mash me up bad," she also told the court in August.

The complainant also claimed that Scott kicked her and hit her in her back, while her husband pushed her down and held on to her throat.

Saunders, who had previously told the court that he is fed up with the marriage, was adamant in court that he is not going back to his wife because she is not going to change her ways.

Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey again cautioned him to be careful about his decision and told Scott that it is not too late for her to move on with her life and allow the married couple to work out their problems.
