Student beats up principal at school - Arrested after cops were called

Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer

The principal of a high school in St Catherine had to seek medical attention yesterday after being attacked by a male student who punched him repeatedly.

Reports are that about 12:30 p.m., the principal saw a fifth-form student with a hoody on along with an earring. The boy was called and he was said to have refused going to the principal.

He was subsequently held and was being led to the office, when he reportedly started to rain blows on the principal who fell.

The enraged attacker continued punching him while he was on the ground. He ended up suffering swollen lips, a cut over his right eye, forehead and bruises all over.

Teachers had to rescue principal and washed his bloody face in the school's bathroom.

The police were called in and the student was taken into custody.

When THE STAR called the Bog Walk Police Station, personnel acknowledged the incident, but refused to give details.

Meanwhile, calls to the school went unanswered.
