High energy at Sweat Fitness Party

Bodies moving in sync with high-energy music, men and women sweating as they mimicked coordinated dance moves from Zumba and Latin music dance instructors.

Soon the music changes to dancehall, then soca, and later disco.

This goes on into the evening with patrons jumping, skipping, gyrating and having loads of fun to music you don't often find at regular parties. But this is no average party. It's more like a scene from a carnival session, yet it is not! These are outtakes from the newest themed party to hit Kingston - the Sweat Fitness Party, held on Thursday at Club Overtime, NHT Parking Lot.

For more than four hours, patrons were kept busy; some dancing, and others just hopping to the music of the party animal, Kurt Riley. The high-intensity fitness party, as it was dubbed, began to sizzle shortly after6 p.m., when several fitness enthusiasts and partygoers streamed into the club for the inaugural after-work jam.

Apart from responding to Riley's animal instincts, the patrons were kept on a natural high with Zumba, Latin and dancehall routines led by instructors Keisha Bailey, Vonroy Richardson and Odein Williams, respectively. And just in case that was not enough, the military team, led by ace trainers Mario Cummings and Kevin Stuppart, stepped it up a couple notches with some tough yet manageable high-energy paces, and the party was on!
