Bail extended for woman accused of fraud

A woman who is accused of 'disappearing' after directing a man to lodge $60,000 to her bank account for the sale of a motor vehicle which was never handed over, had her bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

She is Shadaye Pryce who has been charged with fraud. Pryce is to return to court on February 3, next year, as the file is incomplete.

Allegations are that Pryce placed an advertisement in the print media for the sale of a Nissan motor vehicle.

It is alleged that based on the advertisement a man contacted her and was directed to lodge $60,000 in her bank account for the said motor vehicle. It is reported that the motor vehicle was being advertised for $160,000.

Further allegations are that after the complainant lodged the funds to Pryce's account, she could not be reached by on mobile phone.

The matter was reported to the police and upon further investigations, the advertisement was traced to Pryce.
