Accused held for breaking neighbour's hand

A 27-year-old man who has been accused of running away from his community after he broke his neighbour's hand, was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

He is Andre Minott, who is to return to court on January 11, 2014.

Allegations are that on May 6 this year, the complainant was attacked and beaten by Minott. It is reported that the complainant was admitted at the Kingston Public Hospital for two weeks.

The court heard that the accused was on the run from May, and was last month pointed out by the complainant to the police.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked why the accused was just coming before the courts.

RM Pusey heard from the police that the accused had been on the run and could not be located.
