Man charged with fraud
A man who claims to be a doctor was drawn before the Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday to answer to several fraud charges.

He is Thicker Rajesh from Mannings Hill Road, Kingston 8, who returns to court on January 23.

In one of several matters he has before the court, Rajesh is accused of taking $103,000 from a complainant for the importation of a motor vehicle from overseas.

"Your Honour, I run an ambulance company and I am a doctor. Two guys are responsible for this and the police were unable to catch them, and so they have held on to me. They were working with me and I made a mistake by trusting everybody. I could pay back the money in six months," Rajesh told the court.

The court heard that Rajesh has several other matters in a number of other parishes of a similiar nature.

It is reported that the accused has fraud-related matters in St James, St Ann and Manchester, some which he told the court he was unaware of.
