Cops implicated in pastor's death charged
The four cops who have been implicated in the controversial killing of a pastor along Spanish Town Road last year have been charged by the Independent Commission of Investigations, (INDECOM).

All four officers who are out on $500,000 bail appeared before the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Thursday where the case against them was mentioned.

Constables Alecia Jones, Zabide Dewar, Dion Thompson and Roan Dennis are to return to court on January 23.

Reports are that in November 2012, Edwards, who was a pastor and carpenter, was allegedly shot and killed by the police on Alexander Road, while travelling in a taxi.

The cops said they were tracking a vehicle with gunmen when they intercepted a motor car with several men aboard. They reported that men alighted from the vehicle and opened fire on them.

They returned fire in a reported gun battle.

It was reported that it was later discovered that Edwards who was a passenger in the vehicle was fatally shot.

INDECOM, who has not provided the attorneys with statements in the case involving the four cops, have been ordered to submit the statements by December 19.
