More cops for Yuletide season

The Police High Command is reassuring the public that the police will be increasing its presence in major towns and business districts during the Yuletide season.

Divisional commanders have taken into consideration businesses that have extended their operating hours and have strengthened their patrol teams in order to provide security and maintain confidence among shoppers and business operators.

In addition, business operators are being urged to utilise the police services when transporting large sums of money if the need arises.

While members of the public are being advised to take the necessary steps to ensure their personal safety, the police are determined to thwart any attempts at crime made by unlawful citizens who take advantage of crowded business districts.

The police are also urging citizens to assist them in making all communities safe. Dial the police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop 311 or contact the nearest police station to make a report, and visit our website (www.jcf.gov.jm) for further tips on how to remain safe this holiday season.
