Swedish national fined, ordered deported

A Swedish national accused of breaking into a shop and stealing $980,000 worth of valuables was fined and ordered deported in The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Jorge Timane, of an Uppsala address in the Scandinavian country, was fined $5,000 for over- staying, but no evidence was offered for shop breaking and larceny.

According to the prosecution, on November 28 about 8 p.m., Timane employed a locksmith to open the door to a fashion store owned by him and his business partners.

It is alleged that after he gained entry, he removed items of clothing and shoes among other things.

Following investigations, he was charged.

He was represented by Christian Tavares-Finson.
