Ricky Frass

Guh Hard Productions recording artiste Ricky Frass has landed two gigs this Christmas because of the growing buzz around his latest single, She Like Me.

He is looking forward to appearances on 'Sizzla in Concert' in St Thomas later this month and to a performance at the St Catherine Jerk Festival at the Prison Oval in Spanish Town on December 22.

"The jerk festival a Chozen event so mi a look forward to give him a strength. Mi waan perform some songs for the people, and di fans dem a love the vibe of She Like Me ... the way the ting a shot, mi a see mi picture pon poster fi some dances in a May Pen where mi not even know the promoter," he said.

The She Like Me video was released in December and is now in rotation on CVM, HYPE, RE, and E Plus.

"The response has been phenomenal so far. Mi family dem in a di US a get call seh mi de pon TV. The family proud of me, and whenever the video play, mi phone blow up - friends from May Pen, mi bredrin dem from town. The video up, up, up! Mi nuh get not even one negative comment," Ricky Frass said.

Ricky Frass first gained recognition with the popular single, Tired, on the 'Big Dog' rhythm last year, and he has emerged as an artiste who is more than just a two-dimensional character singing about girls, guns, and weed. He is capable of songs with great meaning such as Suitcase, which he will be releasing in January, and a tribute to his late brother, Brother Yu Gone.

He has big hopes for She Like Me, which is bombing the airwaves into submission. He recently appeared on FIWI Choice Top Ten charts show, Suzie Q Video Alley, and made appearances on 'Full House Fridays' on FAME FM and 'Ignition' on RJR.

He has left the Kingston-based Board House Records and inked a deal with the May Pen-based Guh Hard Productions. The future is so bright, he has to wear shades!

"The next step is to take on the street dances in town and get the ting pon some more mixtapes. Some disc jockeys and selectors have started to link me for dubs, so mi just a gwaan dweet," he said.
