More fun, happy hour expected at second Sweat Fitness Party

A scene from the last Sweat party.

After a successful launch two weeks ago, the second Sweat Fitness party returns to Club Overtime, at the NHT parking lot, tomorrow at 5 p.m.

One organiser of the fitness party, Dr Ijah Thompson, says patrons can expect a bigger and better party as some new instructors and more fun items have been added to ensure patrons get the most out of the event and end the night feeling refreshed and more energised. One new feature is 'Happy Hour', which will begin at 8:30 p.m., when most of the dance workouts would have ended.

"We decided to introduce the happy hour as a socialising and networking segment. During the last party, many of the patrons got a chance to work their bodies on the dance floor. Since this one is on a Friday and most of our patrons will be coming from work, we are encouraging them to continue to be a part of the workout until late into the evening, then relax and unwind a bit. Socialising and networking is always good, since we are living in an age that involves and spurs a lot of networking," noted Thompson.

Two weeks ago, several patrons streamed into Club Overtime and were left asking for more, following an exciting mix of workout, dancing and non-stop high-intensity music from ace selectors including Kurt Riley. Patrons were kept active with a wide selection of music, including zumba, dance, dancehall, soca and more.

Marketing manager for the event, Edgar Lewis, says the response from patrons has been overwhelming as many had not experienced that kind of entertainment before.

"It is always good when you can mix activities which people enjoy and put them in one package, and we certainly came up with a winner by linking the desire to stay fit and healthy with having fun. A number of people turned out at the first staging of the fitness party, and many more are expected on Friday as a kind of last hurrah before the Christmas season really sets in. We want to encourage people to get ready for the demands of the season and the coming year, and we believe the Sweat Fitness Party is the ideal way to do so, and in a fun and exciting way," Lewis said.

The second edition of the Fitness party will feature musical juggling from ZJ Bruce Lee of Zip FM as well as Sun-Jock Fire Wayne from Sun City Radio. It will also see the return of the core fitness team, including Neisha Yen, Keisha Bailey, Paul Henry and crew, and the ever-popular military duo of Mario Cummings and Kevin Stuppart.

Tickets are available at several pharmacies across Jamaica, and interested persons may register atwellfestja.com.
