'Neilo Galliant' wades into music

Born Oneil Howell in Dela Vega City, Spanish Town, St Catherine, Neilo Galiant has now established himself on the entertainment landscape.

Galliant said he is learning the musical art form and making a name, musically.

"I have recorded songs such as Warning and Zion is Waiting, on the Canal Bank label and getting good rotation, " Galliant said.

The entertainer, who has a degree in secondary education, and a diploma in physical education and human resource management, said he uses music to express himself and inspire others.

"I was raised in the Seventh-day Adventist. however, about five years ago, I decided that I would use reggae as my artistic musical expression," Galliant said.

He told The STAR he writes music based on everyday situations and his interpretation of them.

The police corporal, who has also served the Department of Correctional Services, said music has helped him in his duties.

He said he is taking a holistic approach to the art, as he has started to learn the keyboard and other instruments.

"I have gone on a number of local shows. my aim is to be a positive force and grow internationally in the music," Neilo Galliant said.
