Couple on ammunition charges offered bail

A couple on illegal possession of ammunition charges was offered bail when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged are 32-year-old Kedric Campbell and 32-year-old Latoya Rawling, both of a Duhaney Park, St Andrew, address.

According to reports, on November 17, while on patrol, the police received a call about a threat made against Campbell. They went to the address, picked up Campbell and took him to the Duhaney Park Police Station.

At around 3:45 pm, the police returned to his home armed with a search warrant. A search was conducted while Rawling was present and six 9mm bullets were found under a bed under the mattress in their one-bedroom dwelling.

Campbell and Rawling were subsequently taken to the Duhaney Park Police Station where they were questioned and asked if they are holders of a licensed firearm, to which they responded "no."

They were subsequently arrested and charged.

Campbell and Rawling were offered bail in the sum of $300,000, and are to report to daily to the Duhaney Park Police Station.
