Illegal guns found after search of camp

The St Catherine Police say no arrest has been made in connection to the seizure of two firearms and rounds of ammunition, among other items, during an operation in Windsor Heights, St Catherine, on Monday.

It is reported that, about 3:15 pm, a team of police team was in the area when they came up on several men at a camp.

On seeing the police, the men allegedly opened gunfire. The fire was returned but the men escaped.

A search of the camp was conducted and a Glock 17 pistol, with an extended magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition, a Taurus 9 mm pistol with two magazines and 19 rounds, twenty-five 7.62 cartridges, six cellular phones, two pairs of binoculars, assorted medication, flashlights, gloves and military fatigue were discovered.
