Ruffi-Ann hits out against careless driving

Reggae singjay Ruffi-Ann hopes the message of her recently released single titled Careless Driving will help to curb the rising fatalities caused by traffic accidents almost daily in Jamaica.

"I sincerely hope my song will make a difference, too many children are dying on our streets. We have more cars on the roads these days and a lot of the drivers are not cautious when they are driving. A lot of people do stupid things when driving, they speed, they drive and talk on the phone, some of them also drive under the influence of alcohol and even drugs."

Ruffi-Ann said she recorded Careless Driving because she felt she had a responsibility to do something about the problems caused by careless motorists who are causing problems on the road.

"As a concerned citizen, I have to do something to help stop this problem, that's why I recorded this song. Sometimes when I'm driving on the road some of the things I see really scare me, and I am very worried about the safety of our children on the road. I hope my song will cause drivers to be a bit more careful on the roads, especially during the holiday season," said the artiste.

Ruffi-Ann recently released the music video for Careless Driving.

"The video was released last week, so far the reaction to it has been very positive. My team and I are putting a lot of promotion behind the video and the song, we really want the message to spread. This is not about creating a hit but spreading a positive message," said Ruffi-Ann.

Careless Driving is the first single to be released from Ruffi-Ann's official debut album titled Save The Juvenile which is slated to be released early in 2014.

Carless Driving was produced by legendary Jamaican saxophonist Dean Frazer.
