Bonafide for MoBay Nite Out Street Festival today

The MoBay Nite Out Street Festival will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a performance from the Las Vegas, Nevada-based reggae group, Bonafide, today.

Bonafide will grace the main stage at the St James Parish Council-sponsored event in the Old Hospital Park on Gloucester 'Hip Strip' Avenue for a highly anticipated set. Patrons will also be treated to musical juggling by Montego Bay's disc jockey, Dexta Peppa.

The Bonafide reggae band, whose members originate from Montego Bay, St James, and Clarendon, has performed on many international stages and were also in Jamaica in 2012 for the St James Parish Council's Jamaica 50 Independence Jamboree show.

They are expected to provide patrons with good rhythms backed with smooth, soothing vocals.

The MoBay Nite Out Street Festival, which had its rebirth in December 2012, has seen a steady increase in patronage and has featured entertainers such as George Nooks, Lady G, Khago, Jah Vinci, Spice, Madd Dog, QQ, Hezron, Blade Merital, Macka Diamond, Chilando and calypso singer Cindy Lewis.

The free public event has also exposed several local up-and-coming artistes and a number of disc jockeys from Montego Bay.

The MoBay Nite Out Street Festival will run from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. During this period, traffic will be restricted to single lane along the 'Hip Strip' from the direction of the Summit Police Station going towards Aquasol Beach. Parking will be available at the Dump Up Beach Park.
