Second person charged for constable's murder

The St Catherine South police on Thursday charged a second man in connection with the October murder of 24-year-old Special Constable Arianna Henry.

Constable Henry was killed while standing at her gate in Marine Park, Portmore, in the parish.

The man charged is 25-year-old Tevion Lawrence, otherwise called Kitty Paw, of Watson Grove in Portmore. He is charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

Lawrence has been in hospital since the night of the incident. The police said he showed up saying he was shot by a robber.

However, they suspect he was one of the gunmen who was injured when colleagues of Constable Henry shot at the gunmen who murdered her.

Lawrence is the second person charged in connection with the incident. The other man is Kemar Thompson, otherwise called 'Biggs', from Braeton in Portmore.

The police are still seeking another person to assist in their probe. He is Raymond Watson, otherwise called Romie, of Dunbeholden, St Catherine.
