Teen killed on boxing day

The St Andrew South police have launched a probe into circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a teen on Thursday evening in Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 13.

Information reaching our news desk is that sometime after 9 p.m. during the boxing day holiday, residents of Fitzgerald Avenue heard loud explosions and then found the body of an unidentified man suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his head and upper body.

THE STAR gathered that the deceased whose name is being withheld was known to some of the residents of the area, however he was not from that section of the community.

A resident who spoke to our news team said, "... Is not a youth weh mi know well but him a nuh really stranger to the community ... A Wellington Road di yute live and come dead ya so... Nobody nuh know him family...

Di police dem a try figure where he's from and wanted like a relative to identify the body..."

According to police reports, the deceased man was standing in a yard along Barrett Avenue when he was attacked by unknown assailants.

Gunned down

THE STAR understands that the deceased, who is about 19 may have been gunned down by someone known to him as residents claim he was apparently in hiding.

The scene of crime detectives were reportedly summoned, processed the area, after which the body was transported to the morgue.

Our news team understands that no suspect(s) have yet been held in connection to the homicide.

The Hunts Bay police say their investigation is ongoing.
