Teen held after fatal stabbing at wedding

The police in Westmoreland have taken a teenager into custody in relation to a fatal stabbing incident that occurred at a wedding held in the parish on Monday, THE STAR understands.

Information reaching our news team is that the Bethel Town police picked up the 16-year-old suspected to have fatally stabbed 32-year-old Jerome Wilson of Belverede in the parish.

Reports are that the two, while attending the matrimonial ceremony as guests, got into a heated argument.

It was not revealed to THE STAR what the men were arguing about, however, during the heated exchange a knife was brought into play and used to stab Wilson.

THE STAR was informed that other members of the gathering assisted Wilson to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.

The teen, whose name is being withheld, is now facing murder charges.
