10 days imprisonment for water feud

A man who threw water on his neighbour and then punched her in her face was sentenced to 10 days' imprisonment yesterday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Adrian Graham, who pleaded guilty and offered the court an explanation.

The court heard that on December 9, Graham and the complainant had an argument over water.

He wanted her to move some water from his window and she refused.

The court was told that during an argument, Graham used some water to splash on the complainant and then he slapped her in her face because she allegedly attacked him with a knife.

Resident Magistrate Opal Smith told the accused and the complainant that their dispute was very stupid.

Graham was subsequently sentenced to 10 days, and a fingerprint order made.
