Clarendon's most wanted fugitive killed

Martin Shand, one of Clarendon's most wanted fugitive, was fatally shot in a confrontation with the police just after 10 p.m. in the New Longsville area of Clarendon on Saturday.

The police also recovered a 9mm semi-automatic Browning pistol with 10 rounds of ammunition after a gun fight with the wanted man.

According to police reports, Shand, who is also called Fronggie, and is on the police wanted list for murder, was spotted in New Longsville District, and on seeing the police, the fugitive opened fire.

In the ensuing shoot-out, Shand was shot and injured. He was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
