Teen dies, eight injured in Hope Road crash
A teenage boy is the latest addition to the list of road fatalities for 2014, following a three-vehicle collision on Hope Road, St Andrew, yesterday. Eight other persons were injured in the crash.

The teenager has been identified as 18-year-old Dimario Chang of Hialeah Drive, Meadowbrook, also in St Andrew.

The Matilda's Corner Police say persons from the Accident, Investigation and Reconstruction Unit are still sifting through evidence to establish how the crash occurred.

Turned over

It is reported that about 1:15 a.m., Chang was driving a Toyota Hiace minibus along the roadway when he collided with a Toyota Passo motor car.

It is alleged that a minibus crashed into a wall and overturned. A Nissan Caravan motor truck also collided with the minibus.

Police said the minibus that Chang was driving was extensively damaged and he had to be cut from the wreckage by fire-fighters.

Chang was later pronounced dead at hospital, the police said, while eight other persons who were also involved in the crash, were treated and released.
