Many quotes have been coined about music in the past; from the late great Bob Marley's "one good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain" to Taylor Swift's "People haven't always been there for me but music always has."

Inspirational quotes like these have kept the songbird Sophia Brown going over the years as she expresses her vocal and rhythmic persuasion through the art called music.

In 2013, Brown journeyed to places she knew deep within that music alone could take her if she persisted in the art. She travelled the oceans to places such as Europe, France, Italy and so on; doing what she loves best - delivering a mind-blowing performance to the masses while silently behind the scenes bonding, observing and learning from other great vocalists whom she shared the stage with.

"Everybody has their own pattern, their own way of presenting, so it is up to you to observe them so that you can better develop as an artiste" said Brown.

The song Love You Pure is what brought Brown to be nominated for the new female artist EME Music Awards in Jamaica in the year 2008. Subsequently, in 2009, Brown was also nominated for the female vocalist of the year award in Jamaica. Another massive milestone for her in 2009 was the release of her album The Spotlight. Two of her biggest songs from that album are Love You Pure and Weak To You.

Brown then went on to release the hit singles Let It Be Me, produced by Cashflow Records and Lovers' Rock Versus Artist album, produced by Sophia Brown on her own Music Mecka Records label in the year 2010.

In 2011, she proceeded to produce another big single titled Gimmie That Good Love. This particular single was distributed by Universal Records and racked up on the BBS World Chart to position # 19. This single and distribution deal landed Sophia in the number 19 spot on the BBS World Chart and aided her in gaining added recognition across a wide range of media outlets, both locally and internationally.

Brown didn't stop there in 2011; she also took on the challenge of creating, performing and recording a cover version of American R&B superstar Betty Wright Tonight is the night. In addition to being placed on the number one charts in Jamaica for the single, Brown was also placed in the number one position in 10 other countries.

In 2012, Brown was still in production mode; she released her second album Catch Me If You Can, along with that a dub version of the album was created, this was titled Catch Me Dubbing. This album was distributed by Zojak Worldwide.

Now, 2014 has arrived and Brown is back on the ball with a new single titled Touch Me. This is said to be the very first single from her third album. The single will be distributed on an international scale via iTunes by Zojak Worldwide. The single was produced by Denver D Music and is listed under her own label, Music Mecka Records.

Brown's first performance for 2014 will be on January 11 in St Elizabeth at Noddy Virtue and Friends. Other performances include the Oneness Reggae Festival which will be held in Jamaica. Brown will then bolt off to countries like the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom, where fans and friends eagerly await her performances.
