Man sentenced for unlawful wounding

A man who is no stranger to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court will spend the next nine months in prison over a recurring matter with his former lover.

Kirk King was sentenced to three months in prison for unlawful wounding. King was previously sentenced to six months suspended for a year in a matter involving the same complainant.

King, who was sentenced by Resident Magistrate (RM) Lorna Shelly-Williams, is to return to court on April 22 for another matter relating the same complainant.

The RM reminded King that he will also have to serve the six months suspended sentence because of the violation.

"You see how you wicked girl," King said pointing at the complainant.

The prosecution said King has been in and out of court over reports that he has assaulted and wounded the complainant since the woman ended their relationship.

It was revealed that the complainant was wounded in three separate incidents between last October and December.
