Man held in connection with teens' murder

The St Elizabeth police have taken one man into custody following the chopping death of two teenagers in the parish on Wednesday.

The teens have been identified as Desrick Williams, a student of Balaclava High School, and Ashnell Coke of Maggotty High School.

It is reported that the two boys left their home in Thornton in the parish about 4 p.m. on Wednesday to trap shrimp in nearby streams.

When they did not return home, their parents reported them missing at the Siloah Police Station.

The bodies of the boys were found sometime after 1 a.m. Thursday with chop wounds to the head.

In an another incident in the parish about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, two men originating in the Lacovia area were driving a minibus in the Elderslie area when their path was blocked by a log placed across the road.

It is reported that armed men on the side of the road then fired on the stalled bus and set it alight.

Both men aboard the minibus, said to be the driver and conductor, died.

One of the dead men has been identified as 27-year-old Gregory Bryan, otherwise called 'Dangles' of Crooks Bottom, while the other man is yet to be identified.
