cops search for torso of murdered man

The St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force are still searching for the body of one of two men murdered in Portmore on Monday.

Those killed have been identified as Franklyn Robinson, a 47-year-old cabinetmaker and 42-year-old Dane 'Vigilante' Cross, both of Newlands in the municipality.

Police reports are that, about 9 p.m., residents heard explosions after Robinson went home. His body was found in a gutter near his home with gunshot wounds. Cross' head was found metres away.

Meanwhile, councillor for the area, Ainsley Parkins, said he is giving a $200,000 rewards for the capture of the killers. Parkins also said the police needs to be proactive and capture the men.

Residents told THE PORTMORE STAR that Robinson's stepfather was also killed by gunmen last year. Police personnel have since increased their presence in the area.
