Eljai for Rebel Salute 2014

California-based reggae singer, Eljai, is looking forward to performing at Rebel Salute this year. The artiste, who learnt about the festival by watching video footage over the years, says he is pleased to be part of the line-up for this year's staging.

"To be a part of the Rebel Salute line-up is one of the greatest things that I could ever accomplish as an artiste," Eljai noted in a media release.

Eljai is looking forward to making the most of the Rebel Salute experience. He plans to capitalise on the exposure and winning a new fan base. He is set to perform on January 17.

"It is very important to be performing on an event such as Rebel Salute. It is the biggest roots and culture festival in Jamaica, and the world looks forward to this event. As a roots artiste, I will now get the exposure to be seen by fans of the festival," he noted.

Known for songs such as For You, Blessed, Don't Leave and Leaders, Eljai recently released a medley of cover songs from the late crooner Gregory Isaacs. The medley features well-known Isaacs hits such as Night Nurse, All I Have is Love, and Number One.

"The Gregory Isaacs medley has been doing very well around the world. I am working on a video that will be released by the end of January," said Eljai.

Eljai's new album is to be released in February via VPAL.

While on a recent visit to Jamaica, Eljai performed at the Rebel Salute launch. He also did the media rounds with interviews on Hitz 92 FM with Jennifer 'Jenny Jenny' Small. He also performed at a live outside broadcast by Mellow FM at Mandela Park in Kingston.
