Good reviews for 'check'

New Kidz

Lockecity Music Group recording artiste, New Kidz aka HD, is getting rave reviews since the release of Check, his one-drop album.

"In 2014, mi a go full hundred and drop the material, in every format. The world did a wait on Check and now dem have it. the feedback is great. Dem a say New Kidz HD, high definition, ready for the world," an enthusiastic New Kidz said.

The Check album features high-profile combinations such as Our Life with Lady Saw, Fire Truck, featuring Tony Curtis, and Real, featuring Turbulence.

"I am getting some great reviews on Our Life in places like South Carolina, but mi a get the biggest feedback and rotation from In Your Eyes in the wider reggae world, especially Europe and Africa. I am getting a lot of calls for jingles, people really a buy into the energy that mi a bring," he said.

New Kidz will be releasing a video for In Your Eyes this month. The singjay has a number of performances lined up, including club shows in Orlando and New Jersey in the US, to support the album.

New Kidz has now established himself as the flagship artist at TruckBack Studios, working with top productions of Adrian Locke of LockeCity Music Group and Steve Locke of TruckBack Records.

In spite of the critical success of his one-drop album, New Kidz is no one-dimensional artiste. Regarded as one of the street kings, he has carved out a reputation for his street anthems such as his biggest hit, Hotta Setta Gal, and last year's hit Street Pledge, featuring label mates Ding Dong and Baby Chris.

"I am working on a full dancehall album tentatively titled HD, with fresh songs such as Ghetto Rozay with Beenie Man, Owna Don, and Shella, which leads out riddim of the same name for Lockecity. The ting loud!" he said.

The dancehall album will feature a slew of the island's top producers including Arthur Wale, Teetimus, Claims Records, John John, and TP Productions.
