Residents say ... Wanted man killed by friends
André Williams, STAR Writer

André Tomlinson, the wanted man killed in Flanker, St James, on Saturday, was murdered by men with whom he had been friends, residents said.

Information reaching THE STAR is that Tomlinson's death is as a result of growing tension between him and men who broke away from his crew because of ongoing friction in a section of Flanker called Capture Land, where he is said to be the 'Don'.

The bullet-riddled body of Tomlinson, aka 'Chase Cross', 26, was found by police who were summoned to the area after explosions were heard. He was wanted for the November 30 fatal shooting of Oneil Brown, 27, from Capture Land.

Head of the St James police, Superintendent Egbert Parkins, said Tomlinson was a top-tier member in the Rebel gang, however he could not confirm that Tomlinson was killed by former affiliates.

"The police were in the community at the time of the shooting but we had to halt our search because night came down and the hilly terrain was an issue. When we went back the following morning on foot through the community, his body was found outside,"Supt. Parkins said. "The police got intelligence and went in search of him on numerous occasions but could not find him."

Lawmen are appealing to anyone with information to call the Montego Bay police at 953-6191, Crime Stop at 311, 811 or the nearest police station. They may also submit tips online at www.tipsubmit.com.
