Appleton hosts Bacchanal New Year
To stamp their mark for the 2014 Jamaica Carnival Season, Appleton Jamaica Rum presented Bacchanal New Year at Mas Camp recently.

The theme for this year's Bacchanal season is Conquest & Surrender and Appleton Jamaica Rum's 2014 costumes were showcased at Bacchanal New Year, to the backdrop of soca mixes by DJ Richie Ras, ZJ Bambino, and DJ Duchess of Trinidad and Tobago.

Inspiration for the Appleton Jamaica Rum costumes for 2014 is drawn from Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Josephine. Napoleon is remembered as the historic emperor of France and military strategist and the most dominant world leader of his time.

Cecil Smith, group brand manager for rums at J. Wray & Nephew Limited, noted: "The soca or carnival-style parties are one of the fastest growing forms of premium entertainment in Jamaica. Persons from all over the Caribbean and the Jamaican Diaspora partake in soca-related events locally each year, so we found it fitting for the Appleton Jamaica Rum brand to partner with Bacchanal again this year."

For the Appleton Jamaica Rum-sponsored Band Night of Bacchanal Fridays last year, the brand had the critically acclaimed soca power couple, Bunji Garlin and Faye-Ann Lyons perform for patrons at Mas Camp.

After Bunji Garlin's performance, he went on to become the most internationally recognised soca artiste in years, as his single Differentology (Ready for the Road) became a global hit, even being nominated for MTV Iggy's Song of the Year for 2013.

Appleton Jamaica Rum promises more fan engagement for the 2014 Bacchanal season and for more updates on these happenings, persons can check www.facebook.com/appleonjamaicarum.
