SCAMMER TARGETS DEMARCO

Artiste Demarco has become the latest in a series of Jamaican entertainers to have fallen victim to the now-prevalent scamming trade plaguing the island.

On Monday, the artiste found himself accused by several persons via Twitter of collecting money for dubs which they claim have not been forthcoming.

Further investigation by Demarco's team revealed that someone on Facebook has been allegedly fingered as the perpetrator.

The unscrupulous individual, claiming to be from Clarendon, has been collecting thousands of Jamaican dollars on behalf of the singer.

A seemingly concerned Demarco says he wants the public to be aware of these unscrupulous individuals who are swindling honest, hard-working people out of their hard-earned cash and trying to taint his reputation.

"What occurred is unfortunate. Neither me nor any member of my team received monies for dubs. My management is in the process of contacting the relevant authorities to investigate the matter. Please be advised that True Gift Entertainment, Starkutt Records, Headline Entertainment and Prism Marketing Consultants are the only official agents authorised to conduct business on my behalf. For dubs, drops and jingles please contact Kevon Dixon (official Road Manager) at 1(876)852.4809 or producerkevon@gmail.com," Demarco said.

Demarco, now in the US for a series of shows in Florida, Las Vegas and North Carolina, is set to return to the island later this month for a performance at the 2014 staging of the Youth View Awards (YVAs) on February 1 at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

Following the YVAs, the Fren Circle singer will begin preparations for his fourth tour of Africa. Less than a week ago, he was nominated in Australia in the Best African Song of the Year category for his 2013 collaboration Summer Party with Ghanaian star Samini in the Radio Afro Awards hosted by popular broadcasting house Radio Afro.
