For the next two months, the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts will play host to Frolic Fridaze, the newest college party series on the block.

The first instalment, the 'kickoff social', will be held today, at The Deck, Edna Manley College, and will feature musical sets from the college's resident disc jockeys DJ Pelps and DJ Kemical as well as special guests.

Admission to the event is $200 for college students with ID, and $500 for general admission. "This Fridaywill be the kick-off social to welcome the new and returning students. The aim would be to have students integrated in one harmony while having fun. We will be having dominoes along with other board games, and music by our very own resident college DJs, pastries and drinks specials," said Ricardo Francis of the event's planning team.

quality entertainment

Initially a fund raising event, the event proved to be a success within the college. The reason for this staging of the series is to fill the void of events on the party scene that caters to college students' pockets, while providing quality entertainment.

The response of prospective patrons leading up to the event has also been good as Francis stated,

"The response has been tremendous! Frolic Fridaze has been one of the most anticipated events among the colleges since its inception. When patrons come to Frolic Fridaze, they will experience each week a diverse atmosphere and theme, with a fusion of music, food, games, fashion and other social entertainment that caters to college students."

The School Uniform Edition, The Rum & Roses Edition and The Soca Foam Edition of Frolic Fridaze will be held on January 31, February 14, and February 28, respectively.
