Reggae artiste Singing D is confident 2014 will be the year he makes his musical breakthrough.

The talented St Ann native, also a professional mechanic, has been working hard to make a name for himself in the music business.

"I was originally a mechanic but my love for music forced me, years ago, to pursue my dream of becoming a professional reggae artiste. Music is my life. That's the best way to describe how I approach my career. My whole life is all about music. Every day I wake up with one main thing on my mind and that's my music career. Right now I am putting in the work so I can get the results I desire."

Singing D's love affair with music began as a teenager.

"As a teenager, playing sound systems was one of the things I looked forward to the most. Playing and listening to music always made me happy," he said.

Inspired by reggae greats like Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff, Singing D ensures that all his songs are positive and inspiring.

"Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff are two of my biggest influences. I love their music. I hope one day people all over the world will love my music just the same," he says.

The artiste is promoting two new singles, Because of the Guns and Wine and Pose.

"These two songs are getting some good airplay in Jamaica and New York right now. I recently did remixes of both songs and they will be released in Europe and the US by the end of February."

Also in the pipeline for Singing D is his upcoming debut album and a collaboration with Colah Colah.

"I'm working on my debut album, I've recorded six new tracks so far. I am also working on a project with my good friend, Colah Colah. The fans can expect a lot of new songs from me this year," he said.
