Ginjah set to perform at Rebel Salute tonight

New reggae sensation Ginjah is looking forward to his appearance on Rebel Salute 2014.

"I can't wait to touch the stage at Rebel Salute tonight. It will be my first official performance on this prestigious event, and I plan to make it a memorable one."

The affable Spanish Town native is planning to use his performance to launch his love campaign.

"Right now, I'm on a love campaign. My mission is to promote love, peace and harmony through music. There is too much division in this country, too much violence, I'm sick and tired of hearing about crime every time I turn on radio. It's time for a change and we as artistes have a lot of influence on the people. I want to use my bit of influence to show the people that we can live in unity and thrive as a nation of loving people. So my performance tonight will be the start of the love campaign."

Ginjah also stated that he is very happy to be a part of the line-up for Rebel Salute.

"I'm pleased to be on Rebel Salute, it is the biggest cultural reggae festival in Jamaica. Rebel Salute promotes clean living and conscious entertainment. As a Rastaman, I have to endorse this show wholeheartedly," he said.

Ginjah's hit single Sweet Killer continues to grow in popularity. It is currently in the number-nine position of the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart.

"Sweet Killer is a big song, I have to thank all my fans and my supporters for making it so popular. Often you hear a lot of artistes complaining about airplay, but if you make good music, nothing can stop it from reaching the people," said Ginjah.
