Lime 'Christmas Mission' makes a millionaire

Contributed - The ultimate grand prize winner of the LIME Christmas Mission, Judy Ann Pottinger, copped the top prize of $1 million.

Five lucky LIME customers brought an exciting finish to the company's Christmas Mission promotion through four nerve-wracking rounds in their quest to walk away with as much as $1 million.

The contestants played an automated game in which each person tried to select the highest number between 1 and 9 on a fast-moving counter by the push of a button. In each round of the fast-paced game, hosted by LIME Ambassador Donald 'Iceman' Anderson, the contestant with the lowest number was eliminated, leaving the remaining contestants in high tension for the winning jackpot.

Competing for the million-dollar prize were Tracy Ballasingh of St Mary, Antonio Buckle of St Catherine, Iyishla Campbell of Kingston, Deneale Peart of Manchester, and Judy Ann Pottinger of St Mary.

After four rounds, it was down to Judy Ann Pottinger going head-to-head with Antonio Buckle to see who would walk away with the million-dollar first prize or settle for second place and $750,000.

Pottinger stopped the counter at the number 8 and easily outscored Buckle, who had selected the number 2.

However, LIME guaranteed that none of the other finalists would walk away without some of the Christmas Mission cash.

Tracy Ballasingh, a customer service representative from St Ann, walked away with $50,000 and was pleased with her winnings despite being the first contestant to be eliminated.

Iyshla Campbell, an engineer, took home $75,000, and Peart pocketed $250,000 for third place.

Reacting to the thrilling finale, LIME's VP Marketing, Carlo Redwood, said: "We couldn't have thought of a more exciting way to cap this successful Christmas Mission promotion than delivering tremendous value to over 80 lucky customers. These five finalists were definitely in it to win it and all walked away with smiles on their faces. Congratulations to all the winners, and we look forward to continue being Jamaica's preferred network for mobile value."

Pottinger, a customer service representative at a phone-repair store, said she had been a LIME customer for "as long as she could remember. The mother of three is planning to invest her winnings wisely.

Between November 1 and December 24, 2013, LIME pre-paid customers who topped up with $200 credit or more and postpaid customers who talked for 10 minutes or more were automatically entered into the daily draws for two customers to win $50,000 each in the Christmas Mission promotion, which challenged subscribers to win as much cash as they could.
