Woman robs supermarket of milk, chocolate remanded

A teen was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, after she failed to give the presiding magistrate a reason not to send her to jail for stealing.

Charged with simple larceny is 19-year-old Shanique Henry.

She pleaded guilty to stealing four Swiss Milk Chocolate bars, seven Nestle milk pockets, three tins of Nestle milk and two Hershey chocolate chips, the property of Empire Supermarket.

The court was told the goods are valued at $2,031.

Henry was asked by the senior resident magistrate, "Is there any reason why you should not go to jail for this?"

"I have no reason your honour," she replied.

Henry was remanded until Monday for sentencing.

A fingerprint order was also made.
