Man sentenced for crack cocaine

A twenty-four-year-old man was sentenced to six months in prison yesterday after he was found with a quantity of crack cocaine in his possession.

Oshaine Bailey, of a downtown Kingston address, pleaded guilty to the charges of possession of cocaine and dealing in cocaine when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

According to reports, on January 2 at around 10 p.m. the police were on patrol in the Mark Lane area when they visited an old building and the accused was found.

He was searched and a white plastic bag was taken off his person, the bag contained $6,000 along with a white bottle containing 36 pieces of crack cocaine.

When caught, the complainant allegedly stated, "Affisa!, Anuh fimmi. Is a man me a sell it fah, caz nuttin nah gwaan! Gimme a bly nuh please!"

He was taken to the Darling Street Police Station and charged.
