Now under the Sir Gift Record Label, Clarendon-born entertainer Collister 'Guinny Pepper' Nugent says he is now ready to take his share of the musical pie.

Having been part of the music industry for more than two decades, the artiste says, ''I am now seeing where my career can take off in a positive direction and I will now get my due rewards from the music that I have been doing for years. The industry is a business and one's career must be managed properly for success,'' Pepper said.

Nugent says he feels at home with his new management at Sir Gift, and has a common ground on which to hone his craft.

''I have been singing from I was 13 years old and it is the very first time that I decided to do a formal contract on my career, although I have worked for one label for some time,'' the entertainer said.

full of talent

As for James 'Sir Gift' Davis, he has known the artiste for years, "and I am willing to work with him to see how best we can assist each other musically. It will work because he is full of talent".

The entertainer, who is known for the single, Lick up the Chalice, which rose to number one in St Vincent, says his energy is still high and he intends to deliver.

He already has two albums to his credit and is currently recording a single for Sir Gift titled Loose Guns, which speaks to the 'drugs for guns' trade and general crime committed with guns.

Pepper is no stranger to the stage, having performed on shows like Sting, White River Reggae Bash, and Reggae Jam. He is also set to perform at the St Catherine Jamboree on March 22 at Cool Breeze Entertainment Complex, Sharper Lane, in Old Harbour, St Catherine.
