Selector Lizard Hype believes that this will be his breakthrough year not only around the turntable, but also as a deejay.

"Well, for the rest of this year, I will be campaigning hard to boost my career as a selector as well as a deejay. Many persons know me as a selector from long time, but not a deejay. However, I am also taking that part of my career seriously," Lizard Hype said.

"The aim is to make sure that I am contracted on more events during the year. Outside of dancehall events in the Kingston 20 communities, I am looking forward to Spring Break later in March, in Negril," he added.

The selector/deejay, christened Brian Dixon, has a song titled Hard Fi Deal Wid for I Kausun Records which has a video that is doing well on YouTube. His first song is titled Cowfoot, also on the same label.

For Lizard Hype, he grew up in music and always loved to sing, so after getting out there as a selector, he decided to record songs. "I have got good feedback about the Hard Fi Deal Wid song in Curaçao. I will continue doing the work as hard work normally leads to success," he noted.

Lizard Hype has been sparring with Sting 2013 clash champion Ryno, and paid respect to the artiste. He also hailed up-and-coming artiste Venomous, and Global, as well as Stashment Records.

He made it clear that he is no longer working with Rebel T and has started his own team named Lizard Hype Movements.

Hype has been around in the entertainment business for about 15 years and will be staging his crowning on July 27 at Soul To Soul HQ on West Main Drive in Maverley, Kingston 20.
