Waterford, Portmore Pines feature in PCA T20 semis

Title-favorites Waterford CC will seek to put their impressive season into perspective when they face Portmore Pines in the feature game of the Wray and Nephew Portmore Cricket Association (PCA) T20 League at Bridgeport Sports Complex tomorrow.

The first semi-final, which is set to get under way at 9:30 a.m., four hours before the final, will see former champions Ken's Wildflower going up against GC Foster College.

Waterford qualified for the quarterfinals, with the best preliminary record of six wins and one loss and in the quarterfinals got the better of Washington by eight wickets.

However, the surprise package Portmore Pines, who surprised Colours International in the quarterfinals, are on a high and will be gunning for another big scalp.

"Our strength is in our batting and we plan to use it to our advantage in the semi-finals," said national opener and Waterford's top batsman Horace Miller.

"Once we get runs on the board we back bowlers to defend it."

Miller also spoke to the challenge of Portmore Pines.

"They have a good team. We beat them in the first round, and as such we know they will be coming at us hard. But we are prepared."
